The graduate of the 2nd degree of the Mechanical Engineering study programme within the Mechanical Engineering field of study has deep interdisciplinary knowledge in the specialised field, including knowledge of the contexts and relationships to related fields of study, knows and understands the theories, methods and procedures that are used in the field of study, with possible application in science and research. He/she can actively acquire new knowledge, formulate new hypotheses, evaluate theories, propose new or innovate existing concepts, and implement new procedures and knowledge obtained from her/his complex analysis or scientific research. He/she can creatively solve theoretical and practical problems using experimental approaches and computational means and can formulate recommendations for the development of a given scientific or professional field. The graduate is characterised by innovative, creative thinking, can solve problems, manage procedures in teams and make independent and responsible decisions in a changing environment. He/she can present the results of his/her creative work to the professional community, communicate professional opinions, work on his/her professional growth, and participate in technical development. He/she can work in a team or independently, has the prerequisites for project management in the phase of development, modification and innovation of technical equipment or structures, can create mechanical systems, analyse and optimise their properties, carry out material research and research oriented to the field of applied mechanics. The graduate is also prepared to take responsibility for his/her work and decisions, taking into account the wider societal consequences.
