The aim of the employees of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics (KAMaI) of the Technical University is to provide basic and also specific preparation in the field of mathematics to the future engineers and bachelors. The department offers basic university-level mathematics coursesand different subjects related to mathematical statistics, operation analysis, numerical analysis and control engineering practice at the following faculties of the Technical University in Košice: Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnology and Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling. Students learn through a combination of lectures and seminars and some of the subjects are taught using computer technology. The employees of KAMaI have already published the textbooks for several subjects. KAMaI also provides postgraduate education for engineers.
