Laboratory of hydrogen technology
Responsible person: prof. Ing. Tomáš Brestovič, PhD.
Location: Park Komenského 14, ground floor
Focus of the laboratory
Presentation of the island operation involving the production of hydrogen by electrolysis of water using a bipolar electrolyzer, while the produced hydrogen is stored in low-pressure metal hydride hydrogen storage tanks. Hydrogen is subsequently recovered in fuel cells involved in stationary and mobile operation. Research and development also focuses on the possibilities of hydrogen compression using a metal hydride compressor, the design of schemes and the production of functional prototypes of hydrogen drive for mobile means of transport (midibus, tricycle, small tractor...) and the optimization of the temperature management of MH storage tanks.
