Laboratories

TRIPOLYS I

Responsible person: Ing. Viktória Rajťúková, PhD.
Location: Letná 9, main building, ground floor B-block, room B/P003

Focus of the laboratory

The laboratory is focused on large-format 3D printing of polymers such as polyamide (PA 11 and PA 12) and polypropylene (PP) for medical applications, especially for the field of prosthetics and orthotics, dental medicine, production of anatomical models, but also industrial 3D printing. Selected materials processed with Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) technology have certificates for contact with the surface of the human body.

Objectives of the Laboratory

  • To familiarize students with Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) technology, preparatory processes and processes after 3D printing.
  • Students will acquire theoretical as well as practical knowledge and skills in the field of preparing 3D models for printing with MJF technology, preparing printing plates for loading into the machine (positioning and optimization), preparing and starting 3D printing and surface treatment of parts after printing (so-called postprocessing).
  • They will learn to use the technology to prepare the print of anatomical models and prosthetic and orthotic aids.

Laboratory equipment

  • Hewlett Packard Jet Fusion 5200 3D printer (HP, USA))

Software

  • Dassault Systemes SolidWorks
