The Japanese city of Osaka is currently hosting the prestigious World Expo 2025, which takes place from April 13 to October 13, 2025. This global event draws attention from all corners of the world, and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Košice (TUKE) is proud to be part of the Slovak national pavilion, contributing with innovative solutions in personalized implants.
A delegation from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at TUKE, led by Dean Prof. Jozef Živčák, visited the Expo site in Osaka from June 16 to 22, 2025. During their visit, the delegation had the honor of delivering two expert lectures at the European Union Auditorium on the theme "Health and Innovation."
The topics of the lectures focused on the transfer and innovation of custom-made implants and the concept of personalized hospitals as the healthcare institutions of the future.
One of the most well-received presentations focused on additive technologies in personalized implantology and tissue replacement. This presentation captured the attention of Japanese experts and medical professionals, who subsequently initiated expert consultations with the Slovak delegation in the unique setting of the Health Care pavilion. These discussions opened up new opportunities for practical applications and clinical collaborations in this innovative field.
The faculty representatives expressed their appreciation for the flawless organizational support provided for their participation and expert lectures, which took place under the auspices of the Slovak team led by General Commissioner Michaela Kovačičová. Their contribution to the Slovak national exposition is an outstanding example of innovation in healthcare and engineering.
