
On September 3, 2025, a meeting of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, VŠB – Technical University in Ostrava, officially inaugurated the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the Faculty’s foundation.
The program included the awarding of Gold Medals to distinguished representatives of the faculty and cooperating institutions, as well as the presentation of Georgius Agricola commemorative medals to experts in recognition of their long-term cooperation and contribution to the development of teaching and research activities at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
It is our honor and pleasure to announce that among the awardees was a professor from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, TUKE – Prof. Ing. Peter Demeč, CSc., who received this prestigious award for his significant advancement of knowledge and contributions in the field of mechanical engineering, particularly in manufacturing technology and machinery, as well as for his invaluable contribution to the development of industry in the Czech and Slovak Republics.
On this occasion, we express our sincere gratitude to Prof. Ing. Peter Demeč, CSc. for his long-standing professional and scientific work, and we warmly congratulate him on receiving this award.
TUKE Department of International Relations and Mobility announces an additional call for applications for PhD. students interested in Erasmus+ internship. Applications can be submitted to the faculty coordinators until 27.08.2025.

On July 23, 2025, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of TUKE was visited by a leading representative of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Radek Vondráček, accompanied by His Excellency President Rudolf Schuster and a member of the Scientific Council of the TUKE Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, also the President of Eco-Investment, a. s., Milan Fiľa.
The subject of the visit was bilateral talks in the field of education, research, cooperation with industry and a presentation of the Prototype and Innovation Center of the TUKE Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The visit culminated with a meeting in the House of the Czech Society in Košice.
Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Živčák, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Stanislav Raščan, at the faculty on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. During the talks and tour of the faculty's departments, joint projects in the fields of culture, science and research were generated.
His Excellency the Ambassador offered the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, TUKE, many projects in university cooperation, as well as participation at the international industrial level.
At the same time, the Dean informed the Ambassador of Slovenia about current activities and cooperation between the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, TUKE and Slovenia, especially in the field of biomedical engineering with the University of Maribor, as well as various industrial cooperations implemented within the framework of partial tasks of the project policy.
On 17-18.7.2025, the Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, TUKE, Prof. Živčák, received an official visit from Croatia - the County Governor of the Varaždin Region with a delegation, where during bilateral talks and tours of the faculty's workplaces, agreements were reached in the field of education, research and development at universities, as well as economic cooperation. The visit also included a tour of the company Biomedical Engineering, s. r. o. as a spin-off of the TUKE workplace.
