On May 3, 2023, as part of strengthening bilateral relations, professors from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Campus de Alcoy) visited us, including a tour of the Testbed 4.0 workplace at the Department of Industrial and Digital Engineering.
Students of Sjf TUKE regularly participate in Erasmus mobility programs at this university, so it was an honor for us to host them and introduce the only workplace of its kind in Slovakia, right here at our department.
Since classes on Mondays were canceled several times in the current semester, taking into account public holidays, the following public holidays also falling on Monday, May 1 and 8, 2023 will be replaced in the schedule as follows:
- 01.05.2023 Monday (Labor Day) the lesson will be replaced on Wednesday 03.05.2023,
- 08.05.2023 Monday (Day of Victory over Fascism) the lesson will be replaced on Tuesday 09.05.2023,
this means that during these days, classes will take place according to the Monday schedule.
On April 20, 2023, a faculty round of Student Scientific and Professional Activities was held at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University in Košice. Section 5: Industrial engineering, management and environmental engineering, was presented in the premises of our department and was attended by 7 students.
On April 19, 2023, the long-awaited lecture of Ing. Michal Sura, dedicated to the issues of E-fuels, which provoked a lively and enriching discussion among the participating students.
In 2023, this lecture is the first of a series of lectures by practitioners who direct the acquired knowledge of INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING students to the practical level.
We are looking forward to further meetings with experts, about which we will inform you in time at our department.
Opening of a new institute at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

Slovakia has the first testbed focused on Industry 4.0
Košice, 20 February 2020 SOVA Digital, in cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Košice (TU KE), put into operation the first Slovak testbed focused on Industry 4.0 technologies and processes and digital transformation of industrial enterprises. TestBed 4.0 was inaugurated on February 20, 2020 with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Economy, university management, industrial organizations and personalities of Slovak industry. The workplace will be used to test business solutions and to educate students and researchers at the university. It will create a space for networking experts from practice with technology companies and universities, and support research and development of applications for industry.
