On January 20th, 2022, the Conference of Doctoral Students Novus Scientia 2022 was held, which is focused on the presentation of research results of doctoral students of engineering faculties and related faculties of technical universities and colleges. The conference provides doctoral students to present the results of their scientific research, discuss them in a broader context, establish cooperation between workplaces and individuals with a related research focus and thus improve scientific research at the doctoral level. The conference is held under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University in Košice Dr.h.c. mult. prof. Ing. Jozef Živčák, PhD., MPH.

The conference focuses on the following topics:

Automation, mechatronics and robotics
Technological and materials engineering
Management, industrial and digital engineering
Structural and process engineering
Special engineering processologies

The following papers were presented for the Department of Industrial Automation and Mechatronics:
Ing. Martin Varga - Mathematical model of a pneumatic bellows actuator

Ing. Tomáš Merva - Soft Actor-Critic in robotic arm position control within ROS

Ing. Peter Ján Sinčák - Kinematic analysis of redundant robot

In recent days, the Department of Industrial Automation and Mechatronics has received an educational grant from the Tatra Banka Foundation for the implementation of the project "Educational workplace for robot-human cooperation". The aim of this project is to create a fully functional model of a robotic cell, which would allow students of all levels of study the opportunity to work on advanced tasks from practice to image processing to movement planning with respect to current safety standards. In addition to the active involvement of teaching aids in laboratory exercises in several subjects, this workplace will serve as a platform for better final work as well as for modern robotics research.

Based on the decision of the Rector of TUKE, the state exams in AY 2020/2021 at FME TUKE for all students will be carried out by the distance method - online via MS Teams application according to the schedule of state exams.

Bachelor and engineer students, we pay attention to the time schedule of state exams in the academic year 2020/2021. The schedule can be downloaded here:
