The Swiss-Slovak Chamber of Commerce appoints the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of TUKE Dr. h. c. mult. Prof. Ing. Jozef Živčák, PhD., MPH as an honorary member.

On 16 May 2023, the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava hosted the 26th edition of the event Scientist of the Year of the Slovak Republic 2022. Its aim is to professionally and socially highlight the most prominent personalities of scientific life as well as the best achievements in science and research in Slovakia. The event is under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic.
The announcers of the award are the Centre for Scientific and Technical Information of the Slovak Republic, the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the Association of Slovak Scientific and Technical Societies. The evaluation committee, which consisted of representatives of the promoters of the event, selected the laureates from among 62 nominated scientific personalities. The awards for significant achievements in science and research in Slovakia were presented in five categories in the personal presence of Minister Daniel Bútor.
It is our honour and pleasure to announce that Marek Vrabeľ, a representative of the Prototype and Innovation Centre SJF TUKE, has won the award in the category of Technologist of the Year 2022. He received the award for providing complex technological preparation of production and the actual production of unique parts for the aerospace and nuclear industries.
We warmly congratulate our colleague, wish him plenty of motivation for his work and many more successes.

Our dean Dr. h. c. mult. prof. Ing. Jozef Živčák, PhD., MPH received the CITY OF KOŠICE AWARD for significant scientific and pedagogical achievements and successes of the faculty, which significantly contributed to the promotion of the city of Košice in the international space.

As part of the Week of Science and Technology in Slovakia 2022, which began on November 7 and culminated on November 11, with the award ceremony for the Science and Technology Award 2022 at the Aurelium Science Experience Center in Bratislava, we once again made our mark in the great competition of nominees.
The event was held under the auspices of the Minister of Education Mgr. Ján Horecký, in the presence of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Slovak Republic Mgr. Michal Fedák.
The first award was given to the dean of SjF prof. Jozef Živčák in the Popularizer of Science category and the second vice-dean, prof. Tomáš Brestovič in the category Personality of science and technology. We heartily congratulate them!
Diploma thesis - Model of odorant propagation in high-pressure gas pipelines in the conditions of SPP - D, which was sent to the competition "Prof. Nemessányiho 2021 ", organized by the Slovak Gas and Oil Association, was unanimously selected by an independent commission as the best in the category" Technology and technological development in the gas industry ".
