The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Košice has once again confirmed its stable position among the global elite in the field of innovation and technology.

From September 8 to 11, 2026, the 6th China–CEEC Conference on Innovation Cooperation 2026 took place in the Chinese cities of Ningbo and Nanjing, under the theme "Ten Years of Innovation, Building a Shared Future."

On behalf of Slovakia, the event was endorsed and co-organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TUKE was also represented at the event. Slovak scientific and academic know-how was proudly showcased at this global forum by our vice-deans:

• Prof. Ing. Tomáš Brestovič, PhD.
• Prof. Ing. Ján Kráľ, PhD.

They presented our research and progressive solutions in the field of hydrogen and green technologies to an international audience!

The conference brought together experts and leaders from China and Central and Eastern European countries. Together, they shaped a new vision for innovation through 2030 in key areas:

• Green Energy and Hydrogen
• Robotics
• Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Biotechnologies

Negotiations at the Slovak Consulate in Shanghai

The business trip also included an official visit to the Slovak Consulate in Shanghai and a meeting with Consul General Michal Štrba.

The discussions focused on concrete opportunities for developing future cooperation, connecting the academic environment with technology companies in the region, and supporting the international mobility of students and researchers from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TUKE.

The successful participation in the China–CEEC 2026 event clearly demonstrates that the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TUKE not only keeps pace with global trends but actively participates in shaping the technological future, opening doors to strong international partnerships for our scientists and students.
