Ing. Samuel Kerekeš received the special JCI Slovakia award for interdisciplinary innovation
On December 8, 2025, in the premises of the Grassalkovič mansion in Ivanka pri Dunaji, the special JCI-Slovakia award for interdisciplinary innovation - connecting technology and art was awarded as part of the Student Personality of Slovakia competition for the academic year 2024/2025. This significant award was received by our student Ing. Samuel Kerekeš, a full-time doctoral student working at the Department of Applied Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Košice.
He was awarded for the design and implementation of a kinetic sculpture that uniquely combines technical principles with artistic expression. This project represents an exceptional example of interdisciplinary creativity, innovative thinking and the application of technical knowledge in artistic creation.
The award was decided by an expert committee composed of experts nominated by the Slovak Rectors' Conference and the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
